We first met Susannah’s mum Helen in mid-2017 to discuss her summer marquee wedding flowers. Susannah lives in Manchester and had placed great faith in her Mother to source suppliers. We’re so grateful that Susannah’s Mum, in turn, placed her faith in us. In fact, Susannah was the perfect client. She knew exactly what she wanted. Working with interiors and fabrics, she has this wonderful sense of style. Susannah wanted simple but elegant, contemporary but not forced, and natural but definitely not rustic. We settled on green and white as the perfect combination. Who would have guessed that Harry and Meghan would follow suit?
“Wow! From the church through to the marquee the flowers were breath taking and made a huge wow impact on the day. Roz and Claire were so flexible when we made alterations and additions (even up to the Thursday before!!) And just generally were lovely work with. Will be recommending to all of our friends”

Susannah and Simon were keen to give us a testimonial.
“Oh great! Yes please,” I replied. “Would you mind popping a few words on an email?”
”Oh, it won’t be a few words”, grinned Susannah, “just one – ‘Wow!”.
That’s typical of Susannah – such a lovely, warm personality. And as you can see, she did eventually pen a few words of gratitude! Her wedding to Simon was one that Claire and I look back on with great fondness and pride. It was a true celebration that ran like clockwork from start to finish. We felt privileged to be part of their special day.
We worked on the marquee decoration with Mark at Be Upstanding. He was planning to use a striking 2 metre metal chandelier that was to hang over the circular bar. This was too good an opportunity to miss, and we made sure it was suitably adorned. Tables were long trestles, although not rustic. We displayed foliage along the length of the tables, interspersing it with over 100 vessels and vases.
We decorated the church with beautiful pedestals and pew ends and the window ledges with individual vessels. As guests arrived at the Church, they stepped through an arch, covered with foliage and lovely white flowers – one of our proudest creations. The effect was to almost dream-like.
Claire and I stayed at the church until Susannah arrived – looking utterly amazing! Once the service was over, we removed some of the flowers and dashed them across to the marquee, giving them the encore they so richly deserved.
The caterers were Austin Fell. As ever, we can only describe the fayre they provided as ‘beyond Michelin Star’! In fact, I’ve worked in catering and have organised events for over 30 years. I never cease to be staggered by how Austin Fell manage to retain such outstanding culinary quality and style for so many people – over 160 in this instance!
So – it’s a big ‘thank you’ to Susannah and Simon! We’ll always look and back and remember your Wedding Day, as I’m sure you will – as a wonderful celebration of love and happiness. We’re proud to have played our part.

And to close, another lovely testimonial from Susannah –
“From our first chats last year, Field Gate flowers instantly knew how to build the vision we wanted to create for the wedding. Along with the fab ideas Field Gate flowers bought to the table, Roz took on board my every whim, my likes and dislikes, my numerous Pinterest images, and my aversion to all things bunting!”
