Picture this – me on the sofa recovering from an emergency appendectomy and feeling sorry for myself. The phone rang, and I picked it up quickly expecting it to be “We have heard you have been in an accident”. How wrong I was – it was the lovely Sophie from Jo Malones Head Office asking if we would like to collaborate on the launch of the new blossom perfumes using our scented british flowers.
As an absolute fan of the brand and everything it stands for I was elated to have been asked and beaming as Sophie complimented us on our website. Jo Malone has an understated style that is elegant, sophisticated and yet has a dash of uniqueness about it. They make beautiful scents with a unique twist and I feel Field Gate Flowers has the same values.
So in Mid-May, we headed off to John Lewis in Milton Keynes to spend a day with the lovely Jo Malone team, armed with freshly picked scented british blooms including blossom, beautiful alliums and glorious David Austin, Gertrude Jekyll roses.
Jo Malone were launching a trio of blossom perfumes: –
- Blooming Plum Blossom
- Playful Nashi Blossom
- Sakura Cherry Blossom
My personal favourite is the Cherry Blossom. This has subtle hints of rose and violet and brightened with bergamot. What’s not to love.
During the day we ran numerous bouquet making sessions with willing participants.
It was truly a lovely day and we look forward to returning in September – Watch this space for dates.
